Openvpn for Android is a no-cost application that works on all Android devices running 4.x or later. It works with the Android API of the system and does not request many permissions. OpenVPN Connect is the “official” client from the OpenVPN Inc company and is designed to be very user-friendly for casual VPN users with no technical expertise. It’s not as feature-rich as openvpn for Android and is intended for more advanced users. Both apps let you connect to any VPN that supports the OpenVPN Protocol, however openvpn android has a much more user-friendly interface and is supported by a greater number of devices. It also provides features such as dynamic IP addresses and split tunneling that aren’t found in the official OpenVPN Connect app.
